If you want to get to know the world and if you have a passion for world maps, there are at least two important adresses where you can poke: One of them exists since february and comes from Google. Google invited some institutions to create maps founded on their map material. The results are collected in the Google Maps Gallery.
Another one is Map Porn, which is a collection of interesting maps with a big variety of subjects.
